A Passion for Papertrey Challenge

I love all kinds of music and I will try and singalong to almost anything. Husband laughs and sons cringe. I just ignore. Music makes me feel good, carefree and young at heart. Thinking about this challenge I daydreamed about other simple things in life that just lift the mood. Lipstick !  So simple, so quick and just oh SOooooo.  Driving along in my car, singing along to this song Hey, Soul Sister by Train.
Checking my red lipstick in the car mirror, tapping along on the steering wheel.  LOL.  Hey simple but worth millions....

By the way I picked up the idea of cutting the above sentiment  tag here this week

Santa's Key

With all the fun and excitement of last week my mojo for was definitely kicked back into gear. Having ordered 5 packets of keys by K and Co last January it was only yesterday that I got a chance to have a go at making a tag and pocket. I had googled on and off over the past couple of months for inspiration and  each time I came back to this beautiful set from
Everything about it to me seemed just perfect, the textures, the colours and the style. Eventually I set to it yesterday and using bits and bobs in the craft room I made my own version . I am quite happy with it. It cost very little to make and with my little tiny sewing machine I ran it up in minutes. This week  I plan to tweak it a little so that I can run up a batch for the Christmas charity fairs later this year. I will also have to spend a little time on packaging ideas. I'll post them with details of the tag etc  as soon as I can.

What a wonderful way to start my day. A quick peep in at A Passion for Papertrey blog this morning to the amazing news. Not one prize but TWO !  Yeah I am so thrilled and delighted. I have a saying " I could n't even win an argument " Guess I'll  have to ditch it now.

Thank you so much ladies, Amy, Kate and Caryn. I have been a follower of this blog for well over two years now. I even took a little trip to the UK to participate in a lovely card making day last year. I brought home my little bag of goodies and kept them safe on a top shelf. I was so frustrated last week cause I took it down to use and wasted some precious paper ( only card makers/ scrapbookers can understand the craziness of this ! LOL.) So glad I persevered now.  Papertrey Ink supplies are precious, especially this side of the Atlantic ! What a wonderful stamp set to win.  We are a family who just love to travel, for work and pleasure. We love planes, airlines, airports. They have so many wondeful personal  associations for us.

A special thank you for Michelle Wooderson's
inspiration last Saturday

As a family we love Eurovision. We are all set to sit down tonight and enjoy the show. We wish good luck and great fun to all the entrants this year. We are especially behind our entry  Jedward and their song Lipstick. They are two great guys, positive, energetic and fun. We wish them every luck and especially a time of their lives tonight.

A passion for Papertrey challenge

About a month ago I set myself a goal to complete a number of blog challenges  before I get back to making bit and bobs for charity craft fairs. This one is from  It was such an easy challenge but it had me stumped. I started it four times and threw out all attempts. Then this morning having a quick peek at Michelle Wooderson's site I happily wanted to card lift. See my inspiration here.

I used my new little gadget the sew easy for the first time. I think I need to give it a little more use and practise before I form any strong opinions on it.  For speed I pulled down my tiny sewing machine to complete the tag.

The papers and chipboard pop I used were from Hometown Summer Petite paper pack by Collage Press

Make it Mondays with Papertrey Ink

Yes, I know it is Sunday but had to fit this in from last week.

The video tutorials are great on Nicole Heady's Capture the Moment blog.

I made this little card in a flash. My frame is n't perfect. It has the little bleed blobs at the end of the lines. Have to get that special pen Nicole used.... I used papertray ink card stock and inks, ripe avocado and berry sorbet, designer papers by Collage Press Studios Hometown summers. Stamps from stash. Oh and that very cute little gem/button is from Webster's pages little scalloped sparklers. Just could n't resist popping one on !
Happy Summer.
